Hello Strangers..
It's been about 7 months since my last blog post so thought it was about time I made a comeback!
It's strange to think we welcomed 2020 with open arms only for it to go in a direction nobody could have quite anticipated. Who'd have thought by March 23rd we'd be shut in our homes, only allowed out for essential groceries and an hour of exercise each day.
I don't know about you but the whole experience left me feeling out of sorts. It felt unnatural to not be able to see friends and family at the drop of the hat and it wasn't truly until that moment you really appreciated the time you spent with them beforehand.
I'm an extremely social person and previously spent 5/7 nights a week in bars and restaurants, to go from that to sitting in my own 4 walls was extremely hard but I mustn't grumble. I was safe at home which brings me to wanting to take this opportunity to thank all our key workers for keeping the country going whilst no one else could!
I spent a lot of time in the garden, we built a bar and even got a new shed! We got to know our neighbours and waved to our friends from afar too! I'm not an overly affectionate person but I'm looking forward to the day I can hug my friends again!
I also managed to focus on my Instagram page and spent time engaging and getting to know like minded people, some of which I now class friends. Whilst there are many negatives to social media platforms I truly believe the positives outweigh them.
Fast forward 4 months, I've made a return to work and the world is slowly returning to some kind of "normal". The hospitality industry has started to open up again and we can now see our friends and family. I’m looking forward to less challenging times and being able to make up for lost time with those who really matter.
That’s all I’ve got to say for now, hopefully I didn’t bore you too much and I’ll speak to you all soon.
Peace out - Sarah x
